DEVIANTART RULES!

There are so incredibly amazing artists on this site. Most are so good that when I looked at my own feeble attempts to create "art" that I just wanted to cry. I even stopped doing images for a long stretch of time. A lack of inspiration and ambition clouded my mind with negative feelings that ultimately ended with a general apathy towards almost everything.

But I'm over that now! For some reason this past couple weeks I have been on a roll making images that make me happy. Yes they are strange, often dark images with either Horror, or Sci-Fi themes. But the overall emotional release that they provide after the final tweaks and other things has been extremely positive.

So back to the title of this Journal Entry: Inspiration.

I am inspired by the amazing artists here. I'm no longer intimidated by the seemingly omnipotent talent that many exhibit here. I have huge respect for everyone that makes any attempt at art. That is as long as it seems that there was some genuine feeling and hard work put into it. There are infinite possibilities and the people here prove that. A lot of the sources of themes I use are inspired by HR Giger. Also by Stephen King, H.P Lovecraft, Michio Kaku, Stephen Hawking, Poppy Z Brite, and some times Star Wars! I have been on a recent reading spree and I am currently reading The Catcher In The Rye by J.D Salinger. Before that was The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins, Inside The Mind Of BTK by John Douglas, and The Stranger by Albert Camus. I also read Physics Of the Impossible by Michio Kaku and I highly recommend it for those into Sci-Fi because Science Fiction is quickly becoming reality. It truly is an Exciting time to be alive! Even amongst the chaos of our lives I see hope in the human race.
